Ping + Note - Safety tools

When you purchase Pings, you can now add a note to say something to get things started. We put tools in place to help you feel safe and protected while using this new feature. Here’s how:

• Consent (opt in/out) from the feature: You can choose to not receive Pings + Notes. Please note that if you opt out, you will not be able to send Pings + Notes either.
• You can always report a user who sends you an inappropriate note.
• We have tools in place to detect and flag potentially inappropriate messages before they get sent.

How to opt out of Ping + Note

You can decide to stop receiving Notes with Pings. People will still be able to send you regular Pings, but won’t be able to attach a note.

1. From Settings, go to Edit profile >
2. At the bottom under Privacy options, enable Opt out of Ping + Note.
   

Note that any Ping + Note already received before you opt out will still keep its attached note.

When this is enabled, you won’t be able to send notes either.

How to report an inappropriate note

1. Tap on the profile that pinged you on your Who Pinged You tab.
2. Below the message, tap on the Send a report. 
3. Keep the reason “The note attached to their Ping was inappropriate”, or use another reason if something else is wrong with their profile.
4. Add an explanation if you’d like to, and tap Send report.

Our team will take it from there and take the necessary actions.
