Feeld’s nudity detection lets you manage how images containing nudity are displayed in chats.
When enabled, automated nudity detection blurs images that may contain full or partial nudity or sexual content. This helps create a safe, consensual environment where you control what you see.
This article shows you how it works and how to manage your nudity detection settings and image visibility.
Important
- Feeld’s nudity detection system is fully automated. No manual review by humans is involved.
- Because nudity detection is automated, we can’t guarantee it will find and blur all nudity or sexualized content.
- If you’ve received an inappropriate image without consent, you can report it from within the chat (‘more’ menu [three-dot icon] > Report > Chat messages).
- Nudity detection works on all images received in chat, including expiring images.
How nudity detection works
Nudity detection is an automated image detection system that automatically blurs images received in chats when it believes they may contain nudity.
When enabled, if our automated detection system thinks an image contains full or partial nudity or sexual content, it’ll blur it. Blurred images can be revealed by tapping them.
You can control nudity detection settings for all chats or at an individual chat level.
Caution
Because nudity detection is automated, we can’t guarantee it will find and blur all nudity and sexualized content.
Manage nudity detection settings
Note: Changing these settings won’t unblur previously blurred images. You’ll still need to tap to reveal those.
For all chats
To turn nudity detection on or off for all of your chats:
- Go to Settings.
- Tap App Settings > Blur explicit images for all chats.
- Turn the toggle on: All incoming images are screened by our bots. If possible nudity or sexualized content is found, the image will be blurred in chat until you tap it.
OR
Turn the toggle off: Receive all incoming images without automated review or blurring.
For an individual chat
To turn nudity detection on or off for a single chat:
- In any chat, click the ‘more’ menu (three-dot icon).
- Find the Blur explicit images for this chat toggle under Chat options.
- Turn the toggle on: Blurs images that our bots think may contain nudity in this chat only.
OR
Turn the toggle off: All images received in this chat are shown without automated review or blurring.
Note: This individual chat setting will override the setting chosen for ‘all chats’ for this chat only.
Reveal blurred images
When an image is blurred, tap the image to reveal it. If you don’t like what you see, tap it again to re-blur it.
In group chats, revealing an image only reveals it for you. Others in the chat will have their own nudity detection settings and will need to reveal blurred images themselves.
Important
If a received image was offensive or sent nonconsensually, you can report the Member in the chat options menu (Chat options > Report > Chat messages).
