You can edit a message for up to 15 minutes after you send it.

You can delete (unsend) messages that are older than 15 minutes if needed.

It’s not possible to see or retrieve the history of edited messages.
Edit a chat message

In any chat, tap and hold the message you want to edit.

Tap Edit in the pop-up that opens.

Your message will open in the text editor. Edit it as you’d like.

Tap send to apply the change.
That’s it. An ‘Edited’ tag will be applied to your message for everyone in the chat.
